A Message from P.C
Social Development and Research Center (SDRC) has been working since 2051 B.S. in the areas of health, WASH, livelihood, disaster risk reduction (DRR), protection, and inclusive education in collaboration with various INGOs and development partners. Under the Girls Standing Strong (GSS) Project, SDRC adopts a gender-transformative approach through meaningful engagement of three key stakeholder levels: local government, health facilities, and community people. The project interventions are guided by key principles and policies related to safeguarding, child protection, GESI, and the ECD Strategy (2077–2088 B.S.). WASH is an important cross-cutting theme of the GSS project and has been prioritized in every year. The project promotes women’s inclusion and decision-making, women’s and mothers’ well-being through healthy parenting practices, father and male engagement in child-rearing and positive changes in harmful social norms. Overall, the project focuses on reducing CEFM, empowering women and youth, promoting gender equality, and creating safe, inclusive, and supportive families and communities.
